Description

These pieces were created in collaboration with community, schools, or non profit spaces. These are often done as an arts program for the space and can take anywhere from 8-12 weeks. During these programs I teach the process of mural making. I work with the group for several weeks to come up with a design and while I may create some elements and arrange the composition, most of the elements are hand drawn by students or community members making it a very collaborative process. Once we have a few designs, as a group we choose our favorite and select the color palette. The design is traced out on the wall and we all paint it together. This process often builds connections, strengthens community, and creates a sense of stewardship for ones shared spaces.
